This year we decided to host a Pumpkin Carving Party at our house.
Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday but when you have children, all that changes.
We didn't know when we planned it that we would also be preparing for a hurricane. We decided to go on with the party because if the storm was going to be as bad as they said, there may not have been trick or treating on Wednesday.
We started off the day Saturday by taking the children trick or treating up at the beach. They could go to any store with a pumpkin on the window. Hanna B. Nanna really enjoyed this.
Later in the afternoon our friends came over to carve pumpkins.
The original plan was to do this outdoors but the wind had picked up and we didn't feel like listening to 3 and 4 year old girls whine that they were cold ;)
We set up in the basement and it actually worked out really well.
After the pumpkins were carved, we moved upstairs to destroy the play room and eat dinner.
I think everyone had a really great time!
On Wednesday Hanna B. Nanna had her Halloween Parade at school.
It was the first day the school was open that week and the ground was still soggy
but that didn't stop them.
It was also Baby Boy's First Halloween. And he is in teething he@#.
We came home after the parade to have some dinner before we took to the streets for candy.
In that short time...the dog had a seizure and our oven broke. Talk about an exciting week!
Whatever day you are celebrating Halloween this year, we hope you have a great time!
