Saturday Ramblings

A post from me on a Saturday?!  I know...but stranger things have happened.

We are spending the day home relaxing rather then on the beach because H.B.Nanna has caught a stomach bug.  I am cleaning trying not to catch it.  That's let last thing I need.

We have family visiting close by and we'd really like to spend time with them but H.B.Nanna getting better is our first priority.  It isn't worth it to me to push her to do things today and have to deal with her getting sicker rather then better later.

And besides it's going to be 90 today...I'd rather stay in and suck up the air anyway!

Yesterday I had my weekly doctors visit and ultrasound.  Baby Boy looks good.  I am 1.5cm dilated.  Wohoo...things are getting started.  After all the contractions I had on Thursday I wasn't surprised.  I am 36 weeks today and the midwife I saw yesterday doesn't think I'll go much past 37 or 38 weeks...that's really soon!!  I guess I am in the home stretch then...

I am really looking forward to some time off from work, even if it is sleep deprived time off.  Even though I only work part-time, I still get bored with it after a while. It'll be nice to take 2 months off and hopefully I'll go back and enjoy it again.

H.B.Nanna has really been acting out a lot lately.  Lots of yelling, hitting and even kicking.  It is so unlike her but I understand that her life is in transition.  It has to be hard knowing that things are going to be different in our house soon.  Mommy can't hold her like she used to and it is becoming more uncomfortable for her to sit on my lap likes she likes to do.  It seems like we are quicker to snap at her when she is acting out and I hate it. I'm trying to not let it happen and to spend as much quality time with her as I can. Hopefully this won't last long and it isn't a sign of things to come once Baby Boy arrives.  Any advice on getting through this?

Sorry this is all over the place....sometimes these posts just happen!

Weekend Pictures

Thanks to my new phone, I actually took a few pictures of H.B. Nanna this weekend.

Friday this was her outfit of choice for school.
When my Mother in-law dropped her off at school, this look made her teacher chuckle.

Apparetly pulling off a look like this is exhausting!
She wasn't even home 10 minutes and asked to lay in our bed because she was really tired.

Saturday morning we got up and went to the Farmer's Market.
We had a lot of fun picking out the fresh veggies.

Sunday we went to the beach but there are no pictures.  My bad!

Please and Thank you as H.B.Nanna says :)

Big Sister Gifts

I feel like we have been talking about Baby Boy to H.B.Nanna so much lately.  Asking her if she is excited, if she is going to help...etc.  Sometimes I think she is over it.  {I have my over it pregnancy momments too!}

I wanted to get something for Baby Boy to "give" H.B.Nanna when she comes to meet him at the hospital.  Of course given that he could potentially make his arrival at any given momment, I just ordered her gifts last night.

I asked my FB friends for ideas and they came up with a lot of good ideas.  Of course, they sent me to etsy.  Now my track record with etsy is about 50/50.  Sometimes it works out...other times not so much. I am hoping that this order will go in my favor. If not, H.B.Nanna may just get part of her gift a little late.

I came across this necklace and I just love it.
It's cute for a 3 1/2 year old and something she can wear for a few years.

And since Stephen was placing an order on Amazon I picked up a couple of things to go with the necklace.

This book got good reviews and H.B.Nanna LOVES books.

I kept saying I didn't want to include any dolls, toys, etc but the other day I got to thinking that H.B.Nanna keeps asking when she can play the game on the tv.  We don't play it that often so how she really knows about it is beyond me.  Stephen and I talked about it and we thought it would be good to get her a game that she can play and that we can play with her. Since she is all about princesses, this was only fitting.

35 Weeks!!

This is a huge milestone!!  H.B.Nanna was born at 35 weeks and 1 day.  I am sitting here at 35 weeks and 2 days and Baby Boy is still cooking!!  He is really trying to out do his big sister!

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Tank:Motherhood Shorts:Stephen's mesh shorts!!!

Sleep habits:  When I finally do fall asleep, I have to wake up to tinkle. Rinse and repeat. I am finding if I stay up later I don't wake in the middle of the night. Whatever works I suppose.

Maternity clothes: Snug. Enough said.

Food cravings: I saw the sign at the liquor store yesterday advertising wine on sale.  I nearly cried. Soon enough.

Symptoms: My belly has dropped.  Contractions are definitely happening. And I have this awful burning at the bottom of my belly {not high like indigestion} and I keep reading it is a sign of pre-term labor. We'll see.

I had a Level II ultrasound on Friday and everything looked good.  They inquired as to whether my doctors mentioned inducing me early.  Since they had not, we brought it up at my weekly visit later that afternoon.  Basically they will start checking me for dilation at 36 weeks.  If I am starting to dilate {I was 2 cm with H.B.Nanna at 35 weeks} then they will discuss taking me at 39 weeks to avoid toxemia. I am ok with that.

Gender: Boy

Movement: Baby Boy has definitely slowed down.  Enough so that sometimes it makes me nervous.  He keeps passing kick counts so I'll take that as a good sign.

Nursery: Not much progress there.  It's lack of energy mostly.  The lanterns are assembled and will hopefully be hung in the next day or two. Clothes are washed and ready to go.  Now we just need a baby!

Next Appointment: Ultrasound and weekly doctors visit on Friday.
