At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.
If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
Sleep habits: I am sleeping but it isn't good sleep. I yawn most of the day!
Maternity clothes: Yep. I don't have much but luckily I work from home so I can work in my pj's all day.
Food cravings: I can not get enough food these days...which needs to stop. I have a bridesmaids dress to fit into at the end of the month!! I am big on salty and sweet foods. Veggies are good too. I could do without meat.
Symptoms: I am still swelling a little. Nothing major yet and hopefully it will stay this way for awhile. This weekend has been stressful so I was not surprised when I started with Braxton Hicks. There were quite a few on Saturday and just a couple on Sunday. So far so good today.
Gender: Boy :)
Movement: Last night we layed in bed and watched my belly move. I love it!!
Nursery: I posted some ideas for Baby Boy's room the other day. Yesterday we went and looked at flooring for the nursery. The carpet needs to come up. H.B.Nanna's big girl bed got put in her new room but she is not sleeping in it yet because we haven't done anything to make it her room.
Next appointment: I am off to the doctors in abut an hour. I am looking forward to talking to the doctor about my level II and scheduling my next ultrasound.
