Realization

You never realize how good you’ve got it until you need to rely very heavily on someone else. The simple things like washing your hair, buttoning your pants or buttering a bagel suddenly require assistance. While it may only be a temporary situation it can feel like an eternity.

I knew I needed to have shoulder surgery but I grossly underestimated how much help I would need in the weeks after. It has only been a week and a half (only 3 and a half more to go!!!) and I have to say that I am over it. My poor husband may hate me when this is all over!

Since I am typing 1 handed I am going to keep this short :)

March for Babies

Saturday we did our second March for Babies and let me tell you I loved it. I love to see all the children that are graduates of the NICU/ICN. It is great to hear people tell their stories and feel an instant bond with them because though you may not be able to directly relate to their story you have a story and that makes you be able to relate.
This year we changed locations for the walk. I am so glad we did. While I enjoyed the busy city in the rain last year I loved the sunny walk on the beach this year.

The funny thing about blogging

The funny thing about blogging is that you either have it in you or you don’t. You can’t make this stuff up. Either your life is blog worthy or its not. Either you are in it to make money or your not.

Sometimes there are things in my life that I feel are blog worthy. Sometimes there are things I don’t care to share. Sometimes I think it would be great to turn it into a blog that gets lots of products to review and giveaway. Sometimes I think it would be great if the blog generated some money.

Then there are times where I need to step back and look at why I really blog. Why I put myself out there and wonder what I get from it in return. It’s not about the number of comments or the number of followers, it’s about writing your story. It’s about sharing your life with others.

I really enjoyed blogging when I started. It was a way for me to share my pregnancy with those I don’t see so often. Then it turned into sharing the joys of being new parents again mostly for those we don’t see so often. Then I discovered the world of reviews and giveaways and I began to think that my blog could turn into something more. It was around that time that I think most other blogs I was reading started thinking the same thing. And I found that I didn’t enjoying reading a lot of the blogs I used to because they all were about giveaways and reviews. I wanted to tell them to go back to the good stuff – the stuff that got me reading in the first place.

It got to the point where I didn’t even want to log on anymore because so manyy titles to the blogs I am following were about review this and giveaway that. Now don’t get me wrong, I know everyone like to get free stuff…but like a lot of things in life remember all good things in moderation.

I want to start blogging again. I want to share the crazy stories of my life. I want to provide those friends and family members we don’t see as often with a place to keep up with us. I just want to do it my way and not feel pressured to keep up with others by doing lots of reviews and giveaways.

I hope that you will continue to read along. If you chose not to and feel as though I have offended you then I am sorry. I need this blog to be what I want it to be and not worry about keeping up with others or worry about what others think.
