We are not friends

Ok seriously….. We don’t live in the country. We don’t live in the city. We live in the suburbs.

I grew up in this town and while I love it, I am learning more and more about as I get older. I’m not talking politics or anything like that. I am talking wildlife.

I turn out of my development and I have to watch for wild turkeys.

In the morning I have to watch for deer.

But this my friend is were I draw the line…..

We are not friends. I didn’t invite you into my backyard. I believe that is called trespassing….

And who do you think you are scaring and spraying my dog. Not once but twice in the last year. REALLY?!?!?

This spraying was worse then the last but I still don’t think it was as bad as it could have been. Morgan had a flour and vinegar bath which really seemed to work. I read something about the flour neutralizing the oil from the spray and the vinegar neutralizing the odor in the oil. I think she smells like a vinegar dog now but it is better then a skunk smelling dog.

I am continuing to air out the house because my cutesy wootesy doggy ran in the house immediately following said spraying. Nice.

We managed to contain her in one of the bathrooms which has now had a floor to ceiling scrubbing.

Seriously...there is never a dull moment in this house!

Our First Giveaway!!

I wish that when I was pregnant with Hanna I had done a little more research on different baby products like baby cribs from different retailers. We just went to our local large baby retailer and picked the stuff we liked. Why? At the time, I thought that was my only option. But it wasn't....

I am sure by now you have heard of CSN Stores. There are actually 200+ CSN stores that carry of variety or brands and products. If you can’t find what you are looking for in any of their stores, then I would be shocked.

A few months ago I was contacted by CSN Stores to do a product review. It was such a great experience to work with them and Hanna loves her telephone. Last week I was contacted again by CSN Stores and asked if I would be interested in doing a giveaway on my blog. My response: Heck yeah!!

Hanna’s Hangout is having our FIRST giveaway!!!!

I have a $40 gift card that can be used in any of their 200+ stores. How awesome is that?!?

Do you know what $40 can get you?

Jason Sunscreen Review

Towards the end of the summer last year, we began to notice that Hanna was having some sort of reaction to the sunscreen we were using. Stephen thought it was getting in her eyes when she was splashing in the pool. No worries. A bath to wash the sunscreen off usually solved the problem.
Fast forward to April 2010….If you live on the east coast you know the weather this year has been ridiculous. When it reached 90 early on in the month we went about applying sunscreen as normal. {I will be the first to admit that I had completely forgotten about the sunscreen issue from last summer} Day 1 we applied said sunscreen and within 10 minutes my little Hanna B. Nanna has splotches on her face and red puffy eyes.

I was recommended a hypo-allergenic sunscreen and again Hanna had the same reaction. I asked my FB friends if they had any recommendations and a ex co-worker gave me the name of three organic sunscreens to try, raving about all three. I was also told that they can sometimes be hard to find.

The word organic makes me think expensive. But I was willing to spend whatever necessary in order to find something that worked.

I just happened to be in a larger baby retailer one day and I thought I would glance at their sunscreen selection. I was shocked and surprised to find one of the recommended brands, SunBrellas™ by Jason . I quick grabbed one of the four in stock and couldn’t wait to get home to try it.

That day we put it to the test. It was a success. And it smells great too!! I went back to said retailer and they only had one left but I got it. I am so glad to have found something that works for Hanna and doesn’t break the bank at the same time.

If you are looking for sunscreen for your child, I without a doubt, recommend this.

No compensation or product was provided for this review.  I purchased this on my own and decided to provide a review after being pleased with the product.

March for Babies 2010

Yesterday we participated in our first March for Babies. It was rainy and cold but that wasn’t going to keep us!!

I can’t even tell you what a great time we had. I think that the weather kept a lot of people away though. Either way, we had a great time and I can’t wait to do it next year…and the year after that…and the year after that…..

Team Hiking for Hanna :)

Thank you to everyone that donated and to Aunt Becki and Jason for walking with us!!

Baseball Baseball

Last week my Mom and I took Hanna to see Cousin Matt's baseball game.  Matt plays for Wilmington College and we have always enjoyed going to games.  This is only Hanna's second but I have a feeling he may be playing for a long time.

No I don't have any pictures of the actual game.  Just Hanna at the game.

Priorities people, priorities....

Hanna's 1st haircut

Saturday Jacqui came over to cut Stephen's hair.  When she was done I asked Hanna is she wanted her hair trimmed since she was having trouble seeing because it was so long.  Jacqui was excited to be the first to cut Nan's hair. I of course saved the few pieces she trimmed.  After all, you only have have your first haircut once!

A few months back I found this plate at Target.  I had never left carrots for the Easter bunny before but I thought it would be a great new tradition to start with Hanna.

Quality control!

Easter morning Hanna woke up still having a fever.  If only we had known how much worse it was going to get that day....

Checkin out the goods!
Taste good!
The Easter bunny hid eggs at Grandma and Granpa's house!

Little girl didn't feel good and really wasn't that interested

Easter Eggs

Sorry for the delay...we've been both a little under the weather and busy the last week or so.

The day before Easter we thought it would be fun to dye Easter eggs with Hanna.  We had a good time...she preferred to lick, bite, eat the eggs. For being under the weather she really had a good time...

Mean Mommy took the egg that was done and
didn't give her a new one fast enough!!

Shrek's cousin Hanna!!

That same mean Mommy took the egg she cracked to peel it

All better!!

Dyed eggs taste good :)
