Monday funday

I am really liking having long weekends! Today Hanna had her first trip to Wegmans. I am sure that what she saw through her eyelids, she liked! This afternoon I propped her up in her bouncer and she really liked it. Here are a few pictures I took.

Hanna helped Mommy make dinner tonight!

Weekend Recap

I didn't realize it was going to be like this but we had a busy weekend. And I managed to take some pictures too! Friday Hanna and I went to Lori and Karlie's for a Southern Home Living Party. It was nice to go and chat with people I haven't seen in a long time.

Saturday we had Owen's Christening which was lovely. We didn't make it to the church (yeah yeah...I know) but we were there for the party. Hanna was glad to see that her boyfriend is feeling better. That night Stephen and I went to Gary's surprise 40th birthday party in Roxborough. It was a great time (aka I drank more then I had planned) but the air was broke so it was HOT! While we were at the party, Hanna was with her Grandma and Grandpa Lock and Aunt Becki. They along with Roxi went for a nice walk. Hanna got to ride in the stroller like a big girl (for the first time) and from what I hear she was very noisy! Apparently she had a lot of fun.

Sunday Grandma, Aunt Becki, Hanna and I went to the Tortilla Press in Collingswood for lunch. I've posted before about how much I love their guacamole. Then we were off to Haddonfield for some shopping and frozen treats. We were wiped after being in the heat all day.

Hanna relaxed a little after the Christening

Gary (my BIL) at his party and yes we did tease him about the shirt he was wearing in the picture

It was so hot Sunday, Hanna was happy to play in just her diaper

Such pretty eyes!

Windows open

I did it! I survived my first week back to work. And as a reward..I am off till Tuesday! And the best part is the weather is going to be lovely this weekend. I'm talking windows open ALL weekend kind of weather. I love that it is nice enough to hang clothes on the line to dry. And Hanna might be able to wear some of the short sleeve 3 month cloths before she out grows them!

We have a busy day tomorrow, lots of parties. Hopefully I will get some good pictures this weekend.

Have a great weekend...enjoy the weather!

We survived..

Yes, it was rough today but we did it. I didn't cry like I thought I would but I was definitely choked up leaving. I thought about my little Chickpea all day and about what she might be doing. Grammy and Grampy both said what a great baby Hanna is. She was smiling and laughing and have a great ol' time. I think she did so well she is allowed to go back ;)

They were quick to get me busy at work today so that made my day go fast. Now Hanna and I are going to relax and watch some tv. Thank you for all of the well wishes here, on FB and by email. It was very thoughtful of all of you :)

I do have something sad though...the best doggy ever (besides Morgan and Roxi) passed away today. Our buddy Guiness "Guinbo" Barford went to doggy heaven this morning. I will miss Guiney and his late night visits to my bed to wake me up. I can't even begin to tell you how well behaved this dog was. He will truly, truly be missed. Our lives are all better for having him in it.

(Morgan is the yellow lab with her back to us and Guiness is the dog closest to the fence)

Wish me luck..

Today is my first day back to work. Yeah, it is only part time but still. I cried last night but so far no tears yet this morning. I'll let you know how it goes :(

Pretty in pink

Friends

Ava was off from school this week on spring break so Michele brought her down to visit Hanna. You should hear Ava say Hanna, she sounds like she is from the south!
Side note, Ava has gotten so big since I saw her just after Christmas. She isn't tiny little Ava anymore, she is so tall! I can't believe how grown-up my little Lovebug is.

3 Months

Today was a big day for Hanna. It was her 3 month b-day, her first time to church and her first Easter. Here are some pics from before church.

Favorite things

Now that Hanna has reached the three month mark, I thought it would be good to create a list of some of my most favorite baby items.

1) Graco Pack N Play. I love that the changing table folds up. It is so much better then changing diapers on the floor or on the couch and it saves many trips up and down the stairs.

2) Summer Infant Handheld Video Monitor. This is awesome! I like being able to peek in on Hanna without actually going into her room and waking her. It has been especially great now that she is off the apnea monitor. It has really helped me to sleep better.

3) Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer. I like being able to take her temperature without making her cry. We tested it against a regular thermometer and they are very close. It is a bit costly but worth every penny.

4) Graco SnugGlider Infant Car Seat Swing Frame. This is great for traveling. I think we would have gotten more use out of this had we been able to leave the house more. We received much feedback from people on what a great idea this is.

5) JJ Cole Original Bundle Me. This is awesome! It is so great in the colder weather because you don't have to struggle with a blanket. It keeps Hanna nice and snuggly warm.

6) Boppy. All I can say is, we couldn't live without this (and I didn't nurse!)

7) Sound Sleeper. This is a great idea because it has several sound options, sound levels and there is a random option. Hanna prefers the ocean sound.

I think I could go on and on...I may have to create a second list later!
For the record, I do not work for the manufacturers of these items. I was not paid, bribed or forced to say I like these items. I truly like them on my own. :)

Say what??

As most of you know, the week before Hanna was born the doctors told me that I had preeclampsia. It wasn't the worst case they had seen but it was still something serious. After Hanna was born, my blood pressure was still high and I had to go into the doctors office several times to have it checked. It was shortly after this that I began experiencing a ringing sound in my ears. I tell people that the best way to describe it is that it feels like I just left a rock concert. Now imagine that feeling several times a day, every day. Fun.

I decided it was time to head to the doctors to see what it was all about. Well, my blood pressure was high and he suggest I go for a hearing test. I tracked my blood pressure for a week and it was really good, so they aren't concerned about that. However, the ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat doctor) told me I have hearing loss. It is for high pitched sounds but still. I have been told that it is most likely from the preeclampsia because I did not have the ringing noise before then. They also told me it will most likely never go away, that I will learn to live with it. I was instructed to avoid quiet places. The doctor also told me that the hearing loss will just naturally get worse in 20 to 30 years. (Now that is something to look forward too! Not.) When Stephen and I have more children, if I have preeclampsia again, it will most likely result in more hearing loss.

I was interested to learn that this is fairly uncommon. And of course it would happen to me. But it is worth it in the end!

Oh Hanna

Eva was kind enough to point this out! And I can't stop laughing!!

Wireless Hanna

Going, Going, Gone

Today we received the phone call we have been waiting for. Yes, you guessed it. Hanna is officially off of the monitor! And we are so happy!!

I am sure that I won't sleep as well tonight as I will be checking her frequently but I am sure that is perfectly normal :)

Weekend Recap

Friday Aunt Eva worked up the courage to hold Hanna. Once she got her in her arms, she didn't want to put her down. Hanna also had her first trip to Charlie Browns. We love it when people remark on how good Hanna is when we take her out. (I hope I didn't just jinx things!)

Saturday Hanna and Meghann had their first play date. Sorry, there are no pictures of this because Meghann was asleep the whole time! But that's ok, there is always next time.

Sunday Hanna had her first bbq. Because the weather was so nice, we decided to grill and invite some family over. Hanna was Mommy's helper in the kitchen...

No pictures..

I am sorry to report that I have no new pictures to post. Bad Mommy! I am sure that I will have quite a few after the weekend as it seems Hanna has a busy weekend ahead. Tonight PEVA is coming over for dinner. Maybe (just maybe) Aunt Eva will hold Hanna. Saturday I have a pampered chef party then we are having more guests for dinner. Stephen and I met Lauren and Eric in our prenatal class at Underwood. Their daughter Meghann was born in February. They are all coming over for dinner so the girls can meet. Here's hoping the girls become lifelong friends. As for Sunday, I hear a rumor that Hanna may be visited by cousin Matty and Amanda.

I am happy to say that the monitor was downloaded yesterday. Now we are just patiently awaiting the results and the phone call that they are coming to pick up the monitor. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well and we get the call soon!

Have a good weekend all!

Doctors Doctors Doctors

Hanna has had a very busy day today. First we went for a follow-up high risk appointment. This was a requirement because she was a preemie. Well, the good news is that she is doing wonderfully and they don't need to see her again. We are super excited about this. (We had previously been told that we may have to go every 3 to 6 months until she is 2 years old) They told us we need to work on more tummy time and get her to focus on things to her left (she looks more to the right and the back of her head shows it).

This afternoon we went to the doctors for a shot and to report on this mornings visit. Hanna is tipping the scale at 11 pounds 3 ounces and is just over 23 inches long. The doctor couldn't believe how much she had grown since last week.

The high risk people requested a download of data from the monitor to determine if we could be done with it (we were previously told we could be done April 8th). It is frustrating waiting when we know everything is ok for us to be done. They had told us they would come out and get the monitor on April 8th but apparently they just can't come get it. The data has to be read and once it is determined that she is done with it, they will then come and get it. So the moral of my story is...we are looking at still being on the monitor after April 8th....and lots of people with different stories.
