A year in review

I can not believe that tomorrow is January 1, 2009. That means that when people ask when I am due, I can say next month! Holy cow!!

2008 has been a year for Stephen and me.

January and February were stressful trying to finish things up for the wedding. March we got married and went to Jamaica. April was relatively calm except for Stephen’s jaunt to Miami for a weekend bachelor party. May we had PEVA’s wedding and went to see Cirque du Solel. June we found out we were expecting “Chickpea.” July we went to Rochester for a weekend wedding. In August Stephen started the big project of remodeling the basement. In September it was determined that “Chickpea” is not that cooperative (she is like her father!!) October we seemed to be super busy going here, there and everywhere. And we learned that “Chickpea” is a “She-pea!” November we took a baby moon to Rehoboth and began working on the nursery. December has gone quickly! We are near finished the nursery and basement projects and what little free time we have we try and spend with family and friends.

We want to thank all of our family and friends for everything they have done for us over the last year. Getting married and having a baby within a year is a lot and with out the love and understanding of everyone, we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the things we have.

It is our hope that 2009 will be a wonderful year for everyone, full of happiness and love.

Sleep

or lack there of.

Yes, it is 4:30 in the morning and yes, I am blogging. I have watched the clock change for the last 30 minutes and finally decided it is time to get up.

(In case you were wondering, the clock on the cable box changes about 6 seconds ahead of the other clock in the bedroom)

I just had some juice and 3 chocolate chip cookies. I could have eaten a lot more but I am trying to restrain myself. In case you didn't notice from the pictures below, I've put on some weight.

Oh and "Chickpea" has decided to have a little dance party in my belly and she forgot to invite me. Maybe that is why I am so awake. This is her way of preparing me for what is to come.

I also have a lot on my mind. Things I need to do today, tomorrow, the rest of the week and before "Chickpea" arrives. Stephen asked me yesterday if my nesting was kicking in as I was arranging things in the little one's drawers. I said maybe, I don't know for sure. I am sure though, that I will re-arrange the drawers 10 more times between now and mid-February.

Alright, well I guess I will get in the shower and head to work. The good part of this is, the earlier I go in, the earlier I am done for the day.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your nights sleep! :)

33 Weeks!

I hope that everyone had a great holiday. As you can see from the ever expanding belly, we did!

32 Weeks!

I can not believe how fast this is going. Well sometimes I feel like I have been pregnant forever but most of the time I can't believe time is flying.

According to babycenter.com "Chickpea" weighs as much as a large jicama-- about 3 3/4pounds. (Length: about 16 3/4 inches, head to heel.)

Here is this weeks picture. I feel like each week the picture gets worse and worse. Maybe I shouldn't wait until right before I go to bed to take the picture!

Nursery Progress Part 2

Here are some updated pictures of the nursery.
There is still a little to do. Mostly just finding homes for things
and hanging things on the walls.
Yes, that is a full hamper and she's not even here yet!!

And what is a good picture without Morgan?!

I'll take full room pictures when it is all done.
Patience my friends :)

Monkeys!

Here are some pics of our near finished second bath!

I love it!!

Rock On!

Baby Girl got a lot of great things from a lot of great people
but this is by far one of my most favorit things!!
Thank you Chey and Parker :)

A lot of love!

A girl can never have enough clothes!
She may out grow this closet sooner
then we think!

Surprise!

It’s been a while since I have really given progress/status update. Lately it’s been a little complaining about this, that and the other thing. So here goes.

Sunday marked the start of week 30. Yes, I said week 30! I can’t not believe that in give or take 10 weeks I will be holding my little “Chickpea!” If there isn’t any movement from the breach position, then it may be early. My weekly email says that “Chickpea” should be over 14 inches long and weighs approximately 3 pounds. I guess the other 22 pounds (give or take) that I’ve gained are all French fries!

Stephen and I were fortunate enough to have someone do something very nice for us. A “friend” of a “friend” who happens to be an ultrasound tech offered to take a look at the little one a few weeks back. (Ok, so maybe it was in October) Well, I can say that we do not have the most cooperative child. (I think “Chickpea” takes after Stephen!) After a can of coke, some chocolate chip pancakes and 45 minutes of poking and prodding, “Chickpea” was kind enough to show us what we were all so anxious to see. And what is that you might ask, well 3 little lines indicating that she is in fact a “She-pea.” We didn’t go completely public with the information right away because we wanted to keep it a bit of a surprise.

So now I don't have to delete when I accidentally type she or her! :)

We are both very excited to being having a little girl. Neither of us really expressed to one another a preference for one or the other, we just want a healthy baby.

Well now that the secret is out, I will post pictures of the nursery for all to see. And I promise to post a recent belly picture too, Karen!! :)

Already?

Done. I’m there and I can’t believe it. I had been told I would get to this point I just didn’t expect it to be so soon.

Done what exactly, you ask?

With being pregnant. I am ready to hold “Chickpea” and I am ready to bond as a family.

I am done with the swollen ankles/feet/hands. I am done with the Braxton Hicks contractions that have been plaguing me for the last week. I am done with the sleepless nights. I am done with the waddling. And I am done with the 12 8oz glasses of “liquid” a day (which is near impossible if you ask me!)

There are many other things that I am “done” with but this could turn into a very long blog!

I know I know. Once I hold “Chickpea” for the first time I will forget all of the things I disliked about being pregnant. And I doubt it will stop me from wanting to be pregnant again. But for now, today, I am done!

Vent over :)
